Chocolate Scotcheroos
Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
6 cups rice krispies cereal
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 pkg butterscotch chips
Directions:
- Coat 13×9 baking pan with cooking spray (pam).
- Combine peanut butter, sugar and corn syrup in large saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, until melted. remove from heat.  Add cereal; stir until thoroughly coated. Press onto bottom of prepared baking pan.
- In a microwave safe bowl, mix together 1/4 of a bag of the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Melt together in the microwave. Continue adding 1/4 of the chips in 10 to 20 seconds intervals, stirring until smooth. Spread over cereal mix.
- Place in the refrigerator until well set (15 to 20 minutes or until the topping is firm). Then can cut it into bars.
Makes: 30 bars
Variation: 1-2/3 cup of butterscotch chips and 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
